Western Counties Photographic Federation
Founded in 1932 the WCPF is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB). Made up of 98 clubs and societies covering a large geographical area the WCPG extended from Stroud in the North West across to Swindon in the North East, due South down to Weymouth and all counties down to Lands End in Cornwall. The Federation hold various well respected annual competitions and exhibitions.
Photographic Alliance of Great Britain
The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) is an organisation that co-ordinates specific activities for photographic clubs in England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland. It does this through 15 geographical regions known as Federations. The PAGB organises national competitive photographic events for its Federations and for clubs. It also offers other services such as Recorded Lectures to clubs and its own photographic Distinctions (known as awards for photographic merit) direct to qualifying club members.
The Royal Photographic Society
The Royal Photographic Society was founded in 1853 ‘to promote the Art and Science of Photography’, a mission it continues to this day. Membership is open to everyone interested in photography in the UK and throughout the world, be they amateur or professional, artist or scientist, young or old. Members may also join one or more of the specialist groups within The Society.
British Institute of Professional Photographers
The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) is an internationally recognised qualifying organisation with over 100 years of experience in supporting photographers. The core aims of the BIPP are to train, qualify and support professional photographers.
Society of Nature and Wildlife Photographers
This is a new organisation which welcomes pro and enthusiast photographers who have a love for the natural world.
